Vaccines help protect you and others against diseases. We offer a range of vaccination services through convenient, bookable health appointments at many of our Pharmacy+Health branches.
Many of the conditions that we offer vaccines for, are very prevalent in the UK population and can make you feel very unwell or worse. The NHS typically offers these vaccinations but with eligibility criteria limiting their availability. Paying to vaccinate yourself, if you are not eligible, is an investment in your health and wellbeing.

What is the Vaccination Service
Widely available across Yorkshire communities at Pharmacy+Health branches, this service provides convenient access to a range of vaccines, to protect you against specific diseases.
These vaccines may not be available through the NHS to all patients. With the symptoms and consequences of some of these common diseases being very serious, getting vaccinated through our paid-for service, can be a wise investment in your future health.
In addition to the single vaccines listed here, Pharmacy+Health also provide a comprehensive Travel Service. This service takes an in-depth approach to your stated travel destination, current health and existing vaccination status. You will be advised on what range of vaccinations to have to keep you safe – book a Travel Service consultation here.
All our staff carrying out vaccinations have been trained and follow a prescribed process, to ensure your safety and comfort. If you do not like needles, please don’t be concerned and do mention it to our team when you visit. They will be able to provide reassurance and make the process as anxiety-free as possible.

Vaccination Services:
Chicken Pox
- Effective immunity to significantly reduce the risk of contracting and spreading the disease
- Varivax or Varilrix vaccines
- Protection from symptoms, such as itchy rashes and fever
Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Highly infectious conditions that can have serious or potentially fatal outcomes
- Can also lead to complications like meningitis, encephalitis (inflammation and swelling of your brain) and deafness
- MMRVaxPRO or Priorix
Meningitis B
- Protects against bacterial infections caused by meningococcal group B bacteria
- MenB can cause serious illnesses, including, meningitis (an infection in the brain and spinal cord)
- Septicaemia (blood poisoning)
- Sepsis (a life-threatening reaction to an infection)
Pneumococcal
- Helps protect against serious illnesses like pneumonia and meningitis
- Pneumovax 23 , Prevenar 13
- It can also help protect against other illnesses such as sinusitis and ear infections.
Covid-19 Booster
Helps protect against COVID-19, which can be a serious or life-threatening illness.
Our Pharmacy+Health team will provide you with your first or booster dose in the privacy of our consultation rooms.

RSV (Respiratory syncytial virus)
- RSV infections are very common and not usually serious
- Some babies and adults have a higher risk of getting seriously ill
- RSV can cause a serious lung infection (pneumonia) in babies and older adults.
- Recommended for babies, older people, and people at higher risk of getting seriously ill from pneumococcal infections.
Shingles
- Helps protect against contracting shingles
- A common condition that causes a painful rash.
- It can sometimes lead to serious problems such as long-lasting pain, hearing loss or blindness.

Your health consultation will be provided by an appropriate and qualified healthcare professional. Subject to the service you book this will either be a Pharmacist Independent Prescriber acting within the scope of their clinical practice or a Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician, under a Patient Group Direction framework.

Many different vaccines are prevalent in society and being vaccinated protects you, your loved ones and the wider community. Unfortunately whilst the NHS vaccinate millions of people for many different conditions each year, their eligibility criteria mean that some vaccines are not available for many people. Our affordable, paid-for Vaccination Service enables you to quickly book and receive the vaccinations you want. Protecting you and those around you.
Our trained staff will welcome you into the consultation room, confirm which vaccine you’re to receive and which arm you would prefer to have the jab in. Please tell them at this point if you are nervous about injections. Once the jab is complete, they may ask you to remain seated, either in the consultation room or the main part of the pharmacy to be observed for a period of time.
Whilst the NHS commissions both pharmacies and GPs to provide a range of vaccinations for those at the highest risk and where the population health benefit is greatest, this excludes some individuals. Our affordable paid-for service opens up the choice to be vaccinated to everyone.
Possibly. It depends on which vaccinations and what your pharmacist advises. If you would like to book multiple vaccinations, please phone or visit your preferred branch, discuss it with the pharmacist and ask them to book you in for an appointment once you have agreed the best approach with them.
