Why use our Ear Wax Removal Service?
In the United Kingdom, 1 in 6 adults are affected by hearing loss, making it the second most common disability in the country. The increased use of headphones, widespread use of cotton buds, and absence of preventative ear care will lead this figure to rise even further. Ear wax buildup can cause blocked ears, earache, fullness in the ear, hearing loss, tinnitus or dizziness.
If you are experiencing any of the symptoms above, it’s important to book an appointment to talk to our specialists.
Pharmacy+Health provides you with accessible, highly-trained healthcare professionals who can see you quickly.
We use the world’s first all-in-one ear and hearing healthcare assessment platform, Tympa. It brings together essential tools into one portable, handheld system: Digital otoscopy and microsuction wax removal, delivering ear healthcare in the community within a single appointment.
Our highly trained healthcare practitioners are fully equipped and supported by the Tympa Remote Review feature. This enables them to send images and videos from examinations securely. Tympa’s team of audiologists and ENT specialists are always ready to offer advice or guidance when needed.
How often should I use this ear wax removal service?
The healthcare recommended frequency for individuals to get ear wax removal services varies. It depends greatly on each unique case. Some individuals will not need earwax removal services very often. However, other individuals produce vast amounts of earwax at a faster rate thus requiring more frequent ear wax removal. If you’re concerned about the amount of earwax you are producing or would like to find out more about how often you should clean out your ears, get in touch or visit our dedicated resource here.
Treatments
Microsuction is considered the safest, most comfortable, and quickest method for removing earwax. This easy procedure which our highly-trained specialists carry out, involves gently sucking the wax from the ear. To soften the wax beforehand, you can use a solution based in olive oil.
Depending on the outcome of the consultation, your pharmacist might recommend the supply* of a medication. This can be, for example, in the case that there is an ear infection.
Please note that after our ear health specialist will perform an initial Tympa ear health check, they may advise against ear wax removal services. In this case, you will only be charged £20, and not charged the £60 for our earwax removal service.
*medications supplied at additional cost.
