Warehouse Pharmacy Dispenser
Job Description
We are looking to transform community pharmacy and have developed the UK’s first state of-the-art centralised automated pharmacy hub for independent pharmacy contractors. We believe this is an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our team and help drive our hub facility.
ROLE PURPOSE
To ensure products assembled are appropriate, produced to a high standard and are assessed for the end patient. You will be required to work in the fully automated dispensary assisting the pharmacy and warehouse team in providing an efficient service in line with company procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The main responsibilities will be to assist the Pharmacy team in managing the day to day assembly in the Hub. A key part of your role will be to assemble prescription orders.
General:
- Perform general pharmacy duties in line with assembly systems under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Accurately assemble items, under the supervision of the Pharmacist.
- Comply with all relevant company SOP’s, information governance, policies and procedures.
- From time to time carry out activities to support the automation process.
- Assist in the development of other staff members where appropriate.
House Keeping:
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the facility.
- Complete all records required when supplying medicines.
- Complete date checking and cleaning in accordance with the company SOP’s and ensure that adequate records are maintained.
- Have due regard for health and safety for both yourself, colleagues and customers.
Stock control:
- Effectively manage pharmaceutical stock and equipment
- Receive, store, maintain and issue stock in accordance with Company SOP’s
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications
Essential:
- NVQ level 2 – Pharmacy Services
- Experience of working as a qualified Dispenser and or as a checking dispenser
Desirable:
- ACD Qualified
- Experience of working in an automated/assembly environment
- Understanding of pharmaceutical, retail and wholesale and warehousing
Skills
- Ability to prioritise workload
- Able to demonstrate self-motivation and initiative
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to delegate tasks appropriately
