Journey
1984
Our first community pharmacy was established in East Leeds by Barry Lestner. Later that same year, his son David qualified as a pharmacist and spent the next 30 years working alongside his father building the group across Yorkshire.
2011
The third generation of the family to qualify as a pharmacist, Jason Lestner joined the family firm to expand into new communities and increase the range of clinical services offered by the group.
2023
The Pharmacy Group was acquired by HubRx Ltd opening up the opportunity to further expand clinical services. By making use of state-of-the-art technology, the pharmacists’ time is freed up to offer a wider range of private and NHS services. The Group is rebranded as Pharmacy+Health to demonstrate the holistic approach to patient care offered by our pharmacies.

HubRx
Our new approach is grounded in HubRx’s ground-breaking hub and spoke technology.
HubRx is a state-of-the-art centralised automated pharmacy. The facility combines advanced hardware with bespoke software in an automated pick to pack system which ensures industry-leading accuracy of patient prescription assembly, while allowing the community pharmacy staff to spend more time caring for their patients.
By taking more routine, regular prescriptions out of the pharmacy and into HubRx, highly trained pharmacists and their teams can free up time to offer a wider range of clinical services in the community.
Our Staff
Daniel Lee
Daniel is a qualified pharmacist who worked in his family’s independent pharmacy business in Leeds for five years before pioneering the UK online pharmacy industry. As a 2nd generation independent pharmacist, both Daniel’s family and the Lestner family built up a lasting working relationship as they served patients in the Leeds area. Daniel has spent his career transforming the pharmacy market in the UK. After leaving Pharmacy2U he returned to his independent pharmacy roots with the launch of HubRx before overseeing the acquisition and transformation of The Pharmacy Group into Pharmacy+Health in 2023.
Dr Sarah Passmore
Starting her career within community pharmacy, Sarah has held key regulatory roles with Rowlands Pharmacy over a 11-year tenure which also saw her involved in a number of pharmacy automation projects. Sarah’s experience working in the community, along with her background in pharmacy regulation and knowledge of industry automation, means she’s ideally placed to help community pharmacists get the most from the HubRx technology.
Matthew Tollefson
Matt Tollefson has worked with Daniel Lee since the inception of HubRx Ltd in 2019. He officially joined the HubRx team as Chief Financial Officer in 2022 and will take on responsibility for financial matters within Pharmacy+Health Limited. Matt is both a Chartered Accountant & Chartered Corporate Financier, having spent time with EY, Mazars and specialist corporate finance firm Sentio Partners based in Leeds. Previously, Matt has also spent 5 years on the Board for Simon on the Streets, a local homeless charity as the Treasurer & Trustee, until he stepped down in 2022.
Nick Alderson
Nick has over 15 years’ experience in community pharmacy, leading large operations teams for both independent chains and corporate multiples. He has project managed and delivered transformational change which has driven efficiency to the business operation, increasing revenues and customer satisfaction. Nick is fully committed to our vision and strategy, and through his team is implementing the clinical service provision, utilising technological innovation to provide the highest standards of customer care and experience.
